Description
Bell Cranel, a white-haired, red-eyed human adventurer with a rabbit-like appearance, was orphaned following the deaths of his parents—a Zeus Familia member and Meteria of Hera Familia. Raised in a mountain village by his grandfather, later revealed as the god Zeus, he absorbed heroic tales that fueled his dream of becoming a hero. Zeus's advice initially motivated him to pursue romantic relationships with women.
Rejected by multiple Familias upon arriving in Orario, he joined the goddess Hestia's newly formed Familia as its sole member. A pivotal Dungeon encounter defined his path: rescued from a minotaur by Ais Wallenstein of Loki Familia, he developed intense admiration for her. Overhearing disparaging remarks about his weakness from a Loki Familia member solidified his resolve to grow stronger, while the incident instilled a temporary fear of minotaurs.
His growth accelerated through the skill Liaris Freese, exponentially enhancing his abilities based on the purity and intensity of his feelings for Ais, with a side effect granting charm immunity. He acquired Argonaut, charging attacks with power proportional to charging time, though early usage left him vulnerable. Additional skills included Ox Slayer (enhancing capabilities against bull-type monsters), followed by Abnormal Resistance, Escape, and Chain Attack. Initially deemed "talentless," his rapid leveling—achieving Level 5 within months—allowed him to challenge higher-level opponents. As a new Level 4, his agility rivaled top-tier Level 4 adventurers; as a low Level 5, he briefly matched low Level 6 Ais in strength.
Profoundly kind, compassionate, and driven by justice, he intervened to protect others regardless of risk. This included forgiving Liliruca Arde after repeated betrayals, saving Haruhime from sacrifice, shielding the Xenos Wiene, and rescuing former adversaries like Mord Latro. His trusting nature led to exploitation, but his empathy fostered deep loyalty. Despite accomplishments, he maintained humility and struggled with low self-esteem, dismissing romantic attentions from Hestia, Syr Flova, and Ryu Lion as inconceivable. After rejecting Syr—later revealed as the goddess Freya—and triggering her retaliation, he grew apprehensive about rejecting others' feelings. Losses like that to the minotaur Asterius fostered tactical calmness and resolve to create a world where humans and Xenos coexist.
Key conflicts tested his ideals: protecting Wiene and the Xenos (monsters with human-like intelligence) made him a pariah in Orario and pitted him against Ais. He adopted a "hypocrite" philosophy, fighting monsters while advocating for Xenos' right to exist. During the Freya Familia's enforced charm incident, his skill Vanadis Tevere provided stamina and mind regeneration against charm effects, leading to a double rank-up to Level 6 after resolving the conflict.
His primary weapon is the Hestia Knife, a divine weapon that grows with him and functions solely for his Familia. Other equipment includes armor sets like Pyonkichi MK series and daggers such as Ushiwakamaru and Hakugen.
