Adapting to Earth, Maya embraces human life while safeguarding her new world. She channels her intellect into engineering Ganger, a sentient combat robot forged from Katharosian "living metal" to counter the Blasters. During its construction, prolonged exposure to radioactive remnants from Blaster assaults fatally poisons her. She succumbs after ensuring Ganger’s near-completion, entrusting Dr. Hoshi with final blueprints and materials.

Kantaro inherits her unwavering commitment to Earth’s defense, driven by her absence. A Blaster operative later exploits his grief by impersonating her maternal aunt, underscoring Maya’s lingering emotional influence. Her sacrifice and legacy persistently fuel her family’s struggle against the extraterrestrial threat.
