Description
Garp Goemon is a demon student in Babyls Demon School's Abnormal Class. His ancestry descends from a chaotic entity whose extremely hideous appearance served as a defense mechanism, inducing mental breakdowns and insanity in any demon who beheld it. To enable coexistence, the deity Harpnus granted the Gaap family thick silver hair to conceal their true forms and bestowed wind manipulation abilities. This legacy established the family rule to never reveal their faces.
Physically, Goemon is entirely covered in dense silver hair that obscures his face. He stands 173 cm tall and wears a sword at his waist. His concealed visage is profoundly terrifying; accidental exposure during the Heartbreaker exam inflicted severe psychological trauma on two teammates, necessitating advanced recovery spells and extended rest. This incident prompted Goemon to temporarily isolate himself out of guilt.
His personality exhibits persistent kindness and a formal speech style ending phrases with "de gozaru." He actively assists others, often disregarding personal boundaries, driven by the ambition to "make 100 allies." This motivation surfaces during events like the Harvest Festival, where he invited numerous students into a fortified castle for safety, drastically reducing participant dropouts. While his actions sometimes exasperate peers like Agares Picero, they forge genuine connections.
Goemon's primary ability is the hereditary Kamaitachi (Wind Sword) magic, generating and manipulating invisible wind blades. Training under Lady Vepar honed his precision, enabling techniques like Wind Blade: Kill for targeted cutting and Rescue Gale for striking multiple foes without harming allies. He also commands basic spells: La Fire for fire creation and Gran for barrier formation.
His relationship with Agares Picero is significant. Initially resistant to Goemon's insistence on escorting him to school, their partnership proved effective during the Harvest Festival. When Goemon isolated himself after the Heartbreaker incident, Agares confronted him at home, leading to a vow to stop Goemon if he ever lost control again. This solidified their close bond, marked by the use of first names.
Throughout his school year, Goemon participates in key events:
- In the Walter Park arc, he assists classmates in defeating the Taurus Mountain Bull under Jazz's leadership.
- During the Harvest Festival, his alliance-building strategy with Agares earns both a promotion to Gimel rank.
- His accidental face reveal in the Heartbreaker exam causes psychological harm to teammates, triggering depressive withdrawal.
- Agares's intervention facilitates his return to school, where messages from concerned classmates reinforce his value.
- He later contributes to the class musical and achieves Daleth rank.
