Dortin is a dwarf twin to his brother Volcan, engaging together in money-making schemes and comedic escapades. They owe Orphen a debt, driving recurring efforts to repay while constantly hatching new wealth-seeking plots. In Totokanta, they orchestrate a marriage fraud at the Everlasting mansion, positioning Orphen as a wealthy suitor to exploit the family's fortune until the sisters expose the ruse.

After this failure, Dortin and Volcan intermittently journey with Orphen's group, traveling to Mount Kahlna and an ancient garden protected by mechanical constructs. There, they aid in overcoming obstacles yet sometimes inadvertently worsen situations. Later, during a forest expedition, they reach the Dragon Faith village and become embroiled in clashes between poachers and magical beasts. Dortin acts as a cautious counterweight to Volcan's impulsiveness, though both consistently prioritize survival and profit.

Throughout Orphen's quest, they persist as comedic foils and reluctant allies, lightening tensions while occasionally leveraging their skills or connections to help resolve conflicts.
