Description
Hero is the central protagonist and leader of the Volunteer Army, introduced as a nameless young warrior opposing the Black Army's conquest of Yggdra. At age ten, he founds the army to protect the vulnerable, forging alliances through courageous battlefield leadership. His journey ignites upon rescuing Phoena—a fugitive carrying the enigmatic Chronicle—propelling him into a conflict to unravel the tome's secrets and confront the Black King.

Accompanied by his sprite companion Pirika, who voices his thoughts, Hero embodies a silent protagonist early on, communicating through allies or player choices. He consistently displays heroic resolve and chronic hero syndrome, aiding comrades despite personal peril. Combat-wise, he evolves from a warrior-class swordsman wielding "Chain Blade" (3 mana, area damage with daze) and "Return to Heroism" (10s cooldown, knockback strengthening via chains) to unlocking transformation via the "Black Knight's Sword." This grants heightened attack, defense, and movement speed for 120 seconds, ending when he unleashes his ultimate "Chrono Breaker: Abyss."

Hero's growth involves facing alternate selves, particularly the Black Knight—a fallen counterpart from a universe where Phoena and Pirika perished. This clash forces him to confront failure's consequences, cementing his resolve to safeguard allies. Bonds fuel his power: "Heroic Return" amplifies attack, defense, and critical hits based on nearby allies, while "Light of Bonds" enhances critical and boss-wave damage. His relationship with Kain exemplifies a heterosexual life-partnership, and his tie to Phoena deepens into mutual reliance and hinted romance, though he often overlooks romantic cues.

In expanded narratives like *Chain Chronicle Crimson*, Hero mentors figures like Kaz, teaching that heroism includes mundane virtues like wall-repair or returning mementos. He temporarily leads the Guild Alliance during crises, reinforcing his unifying influence. After a five-year absence post-Chronicle dispersal, he returns to Yggdra matured, now commanding party-wide attack boosts and wave-start healing. Multiverse stakes heighten when the Black King is revealed as Phoena’s father, making Hero’s unwavering will pivotal in their final confrontation.
