Description
Akira Iwakiyamayukisatoshironanogojuurokushi is the fifty-sixth child of Shirona from Mount Iwaki's Snow Village. A male Snow Kemono, specifically a yukionoko descended from yukionna, Akira possesses a notably feminine appearance with long light blue hair and blue eyes, frequently leading to initial mistaken identity. His typical attire includes a blue shirt with white collar and cuffs, a bolo tie shaped like a blue rose, white pants featuring three black buttons, suspenders ending midway down his calves, white socks, and white Mary Jane shoes.
He exhibits an energetic, approachable, and caring personality, though often clumsy and struggling with basic tasks. Akira has a strong affinity for cute things, enjoys taking commemorative selfies, and wears an apron while cooking because he finds it cute. He is easily frightened and disgusted by insects, dirt, or dangerous situations, sometimes fainting when confronted. However, he demonstrates growth by facing fears to protect others, evolving into a reliable friend. He spends his paycheck on clothes, knick-knacks, and sweets, dislikes being on full display, and prefers udon while disliking wasabi.
Originally from a secluded Yuki-Onna village deep in Aomori's mountains, Akira lived there with his older twin brother, Yui. The twins fled together, but during their escape, Yui stayed behind to protect Akira, resulting in separation. This event led Akira to seek assistance locating Yui from Inugami in Tokyo. After arriving, he became an employee at the Inugami Detective Agency, primarily handling domestic affairs due to his aversion to unpleasant tasks. His background as an escapee and unresolved separation from Yui remain central motivations.
As a yukionoko, Akira possesses cryokinesis, controlling and creating ice, though this requires ambient water and significant concentration. Initially struggling with control, his abilities improve over time. He later awakens the hereditary Rikka Manifestation power, enhancing his physical capabilities and cryokinetic control while eliminating the need for ambient water. Specific techniques under this power include Blizzard, emitting snow from his body to enable flight, and Skylark Killer, accumulating ice on his arms for powerful strikes. He also develops combined techniques with colleagues, like creating ice-spiked sneakers with Shiki Tademaru by merging their abilities.
Akira's development centers on overcoming his fragility and dependence. Initially portrayed as unreliable in combat or stress due to his fears, he gradually cultivates resilience, particularly when friends are endangered. His journey includes reconciling self-perception with capabilities, moving from seeing himself as a liability to actively contributing to the agency's missions through evolving powers and emotional support.
