Description
King is a male French Bulldog Jewelpet with pink fur, yellow inner ears, and a white muzzle. His distinctive gray/black onyx gemstone eyes represent Health. He consistently wears a golden crown and a necklace featuring a black club-shaped onyx jewel.
In *Jewelpet* (2009), King debuted in episode 7 as partner to Genshirou Hattori. Using Health-based magic to cure illnesses and injuries, his low proficiency caused patients excruciating pain during healing. He developed a romantic relationship with Lapis. After losing a Jewel Game, he sacrificed himself to Diana in episode 35 to protect Lapis. Diana later corrupted him into her service in episode 45, outfitting him with a black Elvis-style wig, yellow sunglasses, and a dark green coat; Lapis rescued him in episode 46.
During *Jewelpet Twinkle☆*, King served as a judge for the Jewel Star Grand Prix, leveraging experience from 16 prior tournament participations. His voting power counted as two points due to his respected status. He displayed fairness and emotional investment in contestants' performances.
In *Jewelpet Sunshine*, King adopted a greedy and selfish persona, leading a fruit-selling organization and attempting to bankrupt a student-frequented café. He employed Alex and Brownie. His crown featured a sharp design with a blue "F" insignia, paired with a blue robe.
For *Jewelpet Kira☆Deco!*, King appeared as a traveling salesman deceiving Jewel Land residents for profit. He sold fraudulent items, such as ineffective "special jewels" to Ruby, leading to his arrest by Angela and Labra. He later returned in episode 39 as a prosecutor, permitting Labra to investigate his building for a dangerous "Boom Rock".
In *Jewelpet Happiness*, King initially appeared as a commentator for a chess championship in episode 27, assisting Ruby in a magical chess match. Later, in episode 43, he transferred to Chiari Tsukikage's school as a popular new student. After corruption by the Red Moon, he became rude and delinquent, wearing purple jackets, pompadour-style green hair, and elongated crowns. Machiko restored his original kind personality by creating a manga about his true self, leading them to form a Magic Gem.
In *Jewelpet Magical Change*, King was the lowest-ranked magician in Jewel Land. After the Jewel Castle's fall severed ties to his homeland, he became a vagabond in the human world. He encountered Sumire, who mistook him for her lost dog "Momohime." After rescuing her from a scammer using his human form's enhanced magic (activated via a Jewel Watch), he dedicated himself as her loyal pet. His human form features a muscular build, pink spiky hair, gray eyebrows, a pink tuxedo jacket, and green pants.
King made minor appearances in other media: he contributed magic to Cayenne in *Lady Jewelpet* episode 50 and appeared in *Jewelpet the Movie: Sweets Dance Princess* carrying cabinets and interacting with Ruby during raspberry harvesting.
His personality fluctuates across series: typically friendly but unintelligent in early appearances, then authoritative in *Twinkle☆*, antagonistic in *Sunshine* and *Kira☆Deco!*, and kind but susceptible to corruption in *Happiness*. His speech often ends with "dasu." His Health magic evolved from painful healing spells to more competent use of devices like the Jewel Pod (*Twinkle☆*/*Happiness*) and Jewel Watch (*Magical Change*), with his human form significantly boosting his power.
