Description
Brass once commanded authority as a high-ranking general within Hadlar’s Dark Army, standing among the elite quartet of generals—Kigiro, Gangadia, and Bartos—though overshadowed by their might. Tasked with training monsters on Dermline Island via magical troop-transport tubes, his military career dissolved after Hadlar’s first defeat. Embracing peace, Brass became a de facto leader to the island’s monsters, nurturing their community until a human infant, marked by a “D” on his clothes, washed ashore. Naming the child Dai, Brass raised him as a grandson, steering him toward magecraft despite the boy’s yearning to wield a sword.

The arrival of Avan, the legendary hero, redirected Dai’s path, sidelining Brass’s mentorship. Yet the old general remained a steadfast advisor during crises, confronting impostor heroes and thwarting Varon’s schemes. His tranquil life fractured when Zaboera’s mind control forced him to aid Crocodine’s assault on Romos. Compelled to battle Dai, Brass was freed only by Popp’s Glimmer spell, returning to Dermline with renewed resolve to guard his home.

Brass’s stout, shaman-like form—marked by light-blue hues, a broad tail, and inconsistent features across adaptations—belied a sharp mind and paternal sternness. He balanced affection for Dai with resistance to his heroic ambitions, fostering unity among monsters through tempered wisdom. Dark magic, however, could unravel his composure, reigniting primal aggression. Skilled in spells like Frizz, Swoosh, and Midheal, his magic waned compared to younger casters, yet his combat experience endured.

Beyond the Dark Army’s shadow, Brass surfaced in spin-offs like *Dragon Quest Monsters: Super Light*, wielding Kafrizz, and crossed worlds in *Monster Strike* collaborations. His story closed with grief as Dai seemingly perished, then joy at their reunion. In peace, Brass shared Dermline with former foes—Crocodine, Chiu, Hym—a testament to reconciliation, his legacy etched in the island’s harmony.
