Description
Akane Kimidori, a 13-year-old Penguin Village resident, becomes Arale Norimaki's best friend and primary accomplice. She first appears as Arale's assigned desk partner in Miss Yamabuki's seventh-grade class, initially expressing annoyance when Arale follows her after school. This dynamic shifts when Akane witnesses Arale's strength confronting her cousins Taro and Peasuke Soramame, forging mutual respect and friendship.

Exhibiting a rebellious, tomboyish personality contrasting her older sister Aoi's gentle nature, Akane frequently executes pranks targeting Penguin Village residents, especially Senbei Norimaki whom she deems a bad influence on Arale. Despite poor academic performance, she demonstrates cunning intelligence in devising elaborate schemes and often laments others' perceived dimwittedness. Her volatile temper triggers aggressive outbursts when provoked. Early portrayals show her carrying alcohol in her school canteen, leading to disciplinary incidents—a trait that diminishes over time.

She resides at the Coffee Pot café operated by Aoi. Key developments include serving as Arale's manager for school club selections, orchestrating a day-long identity swap revealing Arale's android traits, and participating in a baseball game against American High where her pants fall during batting. A future camera shows her at ages 23 and 73, confirming long-term survival despite an off-screen death at age 43 during Earth's destruction in Dragon Ball Z, later reversed by dragon ball revival.

Her relationship with Tsukutsun Tsun evolves from casual interaction to romance, culminating in marriage approximately ten years after their initial meetings as shown through future predictions. Familial connections include the Kimidori family and associations through the Coffee Pot.

In Dragon Ball crossovers, Akane interacts with Goku during the Red Ribbon Army Saga, dismisses characters' spring break plans as boring, attempts to ride the Flying Nimbus (rejected due to impure heart), and alerts Tsukutsun about Goku's warnings. Despite occurring 30 years later in Dragon Ball Super, she retains her 13-year-old appearance during a Coffee Pot cameo when Arale crashes through, inconsistent with her chronological age of 49.

Her original depiction features blonde hair and blue eyes, while the Doctor Slump remake alters these to brunette hair and yellow eyes. She possesses the Cobra Twist wrestling technique as her primary talent. Akane participates in the Great Round-the-World Race organized by the Radial Kingdom, motivated by the one-million-dollar prize rather than matrimonial aspirations involving Princess Front.
