OVA
Description
Yuna Akashi holds student number 2 in Mahora Academy's Class 2/3-A. An athletic student focused on basketball, she frequently appears alongside Makie Sasaki, Ako Izumi, and Akira Okouchi within the sports clubs group. Her father, Professor Akashi, teaches magic at the academy, though knowledge of magic was kept from Yuna after her mother's death.

Yuna displays a mischievous personality and a generally laid-back attitude, yet underlying conflicts surface concerning her family. She harbors a notable Electra complex, exhibiting jealousy and possessiveness towards her father, particularly regarding his interactions with women like Donet McGuiness. She openly expresses a desire to become his bride and actively cares for him due to his poor self-maintenance. Her interests extend to purchasing unusual products from television shopping channels.

Representing Group 4 during the Kyoto field trip's "Kiss Negi" contest, Yuna was caught early and forced to sit out. She later witnessed Nodoka Miyazaki accidentally kiss Negi Springfield, becoming his second Ministra Magi. In the Mahora Festival's Final Day Event, Yuna demonstrated unexpected proficiency with a pair of magic guns, securing fourth place in the "Mages vs. Mars" game. Her combat performance during this event earned recognition among the academy's martial artists.

Yuna's connection to magic intensified after the class's accidental transport to the Magic World. Rescued alongside Makie by the truck driver "Johnny-san," they worked as waitresses to fund their return. Witnessing Negi's broadcast led to reunion, where she discovered his identity as a mage and actively sought a pactio. She became Negi's fourteenth provisional partner, receiving the artifact "Iris Tormentum"—a pair of magic guns granting abilities like Spirit Transformation Canceling Bullet and Magic Suppression Bullet. These guns potentially belonged to her mother, Akashi Yuko, a mage killed during a mission in Megalo-Mesembria, explaining Yuna's prior aptitude.

Her combat role expanded during the assault on Fate Averruncus's forces at the Gravekeeper's Palace. Combining her artifact with Ako Izumi's doping ability, she helped repel attackers and retrieve the Great Grand Master Key. When Fate deployed petrification darts, Yuna intercepted them to shield Makie, resulting in her own petrification. She was later freed from this state to assist in awakening Asuna Kagurazaka.

Within the "Negima!?" continuity and Summer OVA, Yuna adopts military-themed interests and participates in the "Suka incident," which transforms her into an otter. She is occasionally linked to the Chupacabra Research Society, claiming attendance only during periods of boredom.

Fulfilling her mother's last wishes, Yuna becomes an agent for Megalo-Mesembria after the main events. Her work necessitates global travel, leading to frequent reunions where she assists former classmates with their endeavors. Her cheerful demeanor persists despite the demanding nature of her missions.
