Charo is a small Japanese dog separated from his owner, Shota, driving his intense motivation to reunite. This separation propels him into unfamiliar territory, specifically the Middle World, a mysterious dimension existing between the World of the Living and the World of the Dead. Within this realm, he traverses its unique landscapes and challenges. Mythical creatures native to Northern Japan aid him during these travels. His quest expands to include searching for eight star talismans, a core purpose as he journeys through Northern Japan. Throughout all experiences, his efforts persistently focus on returning to Shota. Shota himself accompanies Charo through the Middle World, and Charo's known human connections include Shota's father, Ichiro, providing context for his background and motivations.
