Description
Sho Tachibana pilots the Getter 2 formation for the government agency NASAR. She possesses long red hair, dark eyes, and wears a red pilot suit modeled after her manga design but colored like her anime counterpart. Sho maintains a generally calm and reassuring demeanor, though she becomes assertively firm when dealing with her hot-blooded teammate, Go Ichimonji. Her highly analytical nature leads her to apply strategic thinking more consistently than her fellow pilots.
Before joining NASAR, Sho served in the American military, where she met Jack and Mary King. Recruited to NASAR, she later collaborated with Gai Daido to find a third pilot for Neo Getter Robo, a search resolved by Go Ichimonji's arrival. Her extensive American Air Force training made her a highly competent pilot, technically proficient enough to operate both the plasma-powered Neo Getter Robo and the far more powerful Shin Getter Robo due to shared control systems. Her skills extend beyond the cockpit, with the series finale showing her practicing Iaido, the quick-draw sword art.
Piloting Neo Getter alongside Go and Gai during the war against the Dinosaur Empire, Sho faced the Empire's assault on the deactivated Saotome Institute. She and Gai battled prototype Getter robots while Neo Getter suffered critically low power, a situation only reversed when Shin Getter Robo arrived. Following Emperor Gore's defeat, Sho participated in celebrations marking the Saotome Institute's reopening. Her presence or development in other Getter Robo media, including manga arcs or alternate anime continuities, remains unverified.
