Description
Madoka Hongo is a fourth-year student at Koufuuin University, playing rugby as a fullback. He is the older brother of Kazutaka Hongo, who also plays rugby at the same university.

Madoka has a lean build, medium-length light-green hair, and orange eyes. He wears Koufuuin University's yellow rugby uniform for matches and practice, choosing fashionable attire otherwise.

Charismatic and persuasive, he inspires others to improve under his guidance, with natural leadership that draws followers. Madoka also exhibits a cunning and provocative side, especially in coaching strategy. This surfaces when challenging Ikuto Yufu's reasons for not pursuing professional rugby or during exchanges with Seiichirou Shingyouji, where his remarks carry an aggravating undertone. His personality directly contrasts with his younger brother Kazutaka.

His rugby career began at Maisagi High School, where he and Kazutaka were famed as a sibling duo. There, Ueoka Ibuki nicknamed Madoka "The God of Backs" and Kazutaka "The Forward God of Destruction," reflecting their positions and skills. Madoka is recognized for his coaching abilities, having directly or indirectly mentored players like Yasunari Tsuru, Ibuki Ueoka, Seiichirou Shingyouji, and Natsusa Yuzuki. He influenced his brother's path, directing Kazutaka toward rugby in their youth to channel his aggression.

His given name "Madoka" means "circle, yen, round" (円). His surname "Hongo" combines "base, root, origin" (本) and "township, home town, village, native place, district" (郷).
