Ryoko attends St. Paulina's Private School as a classmate and friend of the protagonist, Meimi Haneoka. She is regularly seen with another classmate, Kyoko, and both are part of Meimi's school social circle.

Within the anime adaptation, Ryoko and Kyoko accept a brief challenge from Asuka Jr. to try capturing the phantom thief Saint Tail themselves. Though their attempt to catch the thief fails, this joint adventure results in cementing their friendship.
