Description
Resurrected as an antagonist during Sekigahara's climax, Oda Nobunaga returns through dark rituals performed by the monk Tenkai and his sister Oichi. Tenkai, secretly Akechi Mitsuhide in disguise, manipulates events to revive Nobunaga, utilizing Oichi's supernatural connection and the battlefield's massive bloodshed as an anchor.
Manifesting immense demonic power upon resurrection, Nobunaga sustains his presence by feeding on soldiers' lives. He immediately asserts dominance, declaring himself the "Demon King of the Sixth Heaven" and unleashing destructive energy against the gathered warlords. His appearance and abilities reflect a supernatural entity commanding darkness and wielding overwhelming force.
His personality remains ruthlessly arrogant and devoid of empathy. He shows no recognition of Tenkai/Mitsuhide, dismissing him with indifference before annihilating him, underscoring his perception of others as expendable tools. Nobunaga views the warriors at Sekigahara as insignificant obstacles to his ambition of absolute rule through fear and destruction.
Oichi ultimately halts the resurrection by sacrificing herself, drawing on her husband Azai Nagamasa's spiritual influence. This act, combined with Ishida Mitsunari's final attack, forces Nobunaga back to the afterlife, concluding his arc though his brief return significantly escalates the conflict and thematic stakes.
Nobunaga's background as a historical unifier and his "Demon King" moniker are retained. His forces act as extensions of his will, spreading darkness and slaughter. His return via Oichi ties into their familial relationship, yet he exploits her without remorse.
