Movie
Description
Nana Daiba is a second-year student at Seisho Music Academy, part of the 99th graduating class in the Actor Training Department. Standing 170 cm tall, she is the tallest among her peers. She possesses emerald-green eyes and dark-blonde hair styled in half-twintails secured with chartreuse ribbons, resembling bananas. This feature inspired the nickname "Banana," given by classmate Karen Aijo, reflecting Nana's sweet, nurturing nature and fondness for banana-themed cooking. Her casual attire frequently incorporates yellow tones, reinforcing this association.

Educationally, she attended Toyama Municipal Junior High School No. 7, studying classical ballet since 2009 and vocal music since 2014. She earned an Award of Excellence in the National Junior High School Drama Contest. Professionally, she excels in singing, dancing, and theatrical direction, displaying a particular attachment to her first-year group performance of "Starlight."

Her personality balances a motherly, caring facade with deeper complexities. She acts as a supportive figure, baking snacks and assisting classmates, driven by a fear of loneliness and a desire to preserve harmony stemming from friendless experiences in middle school and witnessing peers drop out due to academic pressures. Beneath this kindness lies an obsessive need to control her environment, manifesting in her ability to trap Seisho in a time loop. Using this power, she forces repetitions of the 99th Seisho Festival's "Starlight" performance to protect her friends from future hardships, including the competitive revue system that drains losers' "shine" (passion/talent). The loops—estimated at over 60 iterations—highlight her stagnation and internal conflict.

In revues, otherworldly musical-theatre duels, she wields twin Japanese swords named "Meguri" (輪) and "Mai" (舞), symbolizing "rondo" when combined. Her skills are formidable; she once defeated top-ranked Maya Tendo and all other Seisho students single-handedly in the "Revue of Annihilation." Her revue introductions evolve across media: the anime features the declaration "I will protect them! Forever... Again and again!" while the movie shifts to a darker tone, condemning opponents as "ugly fruit" and offering a "beautiful end" to those resigned to stagnation.

Her relationships define key arcs. With Karen Aijo, she shares mutual affection, but their ideals clash: Karen values theatre's ephemeral nature, while Nana fixates on preserving the past. Junna Hoshimi, her roommate, becomes pivotal in breaking the time loop. Their confrontation in the movie's "Revue of Hunting" sees Nana donning a Showa-era military uniform, symbolizing rebellion against complacency. She challenges Junna's reliance on others' philosophies, pushing her toward self-driven ambition. This culminates in Nana's defeat and acceptance of change, aided by Junna's reassurance of enduring support.

Her development concludes with relinquishing the loop. Though initially resisting disruptions like Hikari Kagura's arrival, she acknowledges that growth requires risk. The movie reinforces this through thematic parallels to historical events (e.g., the February 26 Incident) and philosophical concepts of self-denial, where destroying a stagnant "self" enables progress. Her surname "Daiba" (大場), meaning "big place" or "precious place," reflects her protective role, while "Nana" phonetically evokes "banana," aligning with her motifs.

Trivia includes her love for frogs (favorite gift: frog notebook), aversion to spicy food, and poor sleeping posture.
