Description
Romani Archaman initially headed the medical department at Chaldea Security Organization before rising to acting director after a catastrophic incident. His origin lies as the human incarnation of Solomon, King of Mages, summoned by Marisbury Animusphere using one of Solomon's rings. After winning the Holy Grail War in the Fuyuki Singularity alongside Marisbury, Solomon used the Grail's power to wish for humanity, transforming him into an entirely new human being disconnected from his past existence: Romani Archaman. Shortly after his rebirth, he foresaw Goetia's plan to incinerate humanity using his original body but found himself powerless to intervene as a human.
Embracing his new life, Romani traveled widely, studied medicine, and earned his doctorate. A special invitation brought him to Chaldea in 2005, where he became head of its medical facility in his twenties—an unprecedented achievement. At Chaldea, he formed friendships, including with Lev Lainur, with whom he studied magecraft. His involvement with the Demi-Servant project began in 2010 upon discovering "Summoning Case #2," whom he named Mash Kyrielight. He subsequently secured her position as a staff member and Master candidate under Olga Marie Animusphere and intervened to protect her from Beryl Gut a year before the Grand Order conflicts commenced.
Physically, Romani possessed light green eyes and distinctive, self-described fluffy peach-pink hair, often tied back. His standard medical attire—a white coat with green accents, pants, and gloves—concealed Solomon's tenth ring on his left hand. Personality-wise, realism and pessimism lay beneath his cheerful, approachable exterior. He maintained superficial friendships to avoid witnessing sadness, embodying the "everybody's friend" archetype. Habitually indecisive during critical moments unless prompted by others, he relied on guidance from the virtual idol "Magi⭐Mari" (later revealed as Merlin), reflecting this trait rooted in self-awareness. Servants generally perceived him as unconsciously blameworthy, with exceptions among non-Servants or Berserker-class entities.
Throughout the Grand Order missions, Romani provided medical oversight and remote support via Rayshifts to Master Ritsuka Fujimaru and Mash. Following Chaldea's explosion, he assumed command as acting director, offering strategic guidance across Singularities while concealing critical knowledge about Goetia impersonating Solomon. This secrecy later drew suspicion from allies like Da Vinci and Sherlock Holmes. During the climax in the Solomon Singularity, prompted by Mash's sacrificial act, he revealed his true identity. Confronting Goetia, he relinquished his human existence by activating his Noble Phantasm, Ars Nova. This act erased Solomon from the Throne of Heroes and himself, sacrificing all achievements to defeat Goetia and restore humanity.
His character arc traced a path from detached omnipotence to embraced human fragility. As Solomon, he possessed power without autonomy; as Romani, he gained human experiences yet faced powerlessness against impending doom. His choice to become a doctor reflected a desire to heal, not merely observe, culminating in his ultimate act of human agency through self-sacrifice.
