Description
Taiga Kōgami is a street-style Prism Star from Aomori, Japan, who enrolled at Edel Rose Academy driven by deep admiration for Kazuki Nishina. He first met Kazuki during a childhood trip to Tokyo, where Kazuki introduced him to Prism Shows and taught him basic techniques. However, Taiga's family abruptly returned to Aomori due to an approaching typhoon, preventing his debut performance and any farewell to Kazuki—an event that profoundly fueled his motivation.

Physically, Taiga possesses green eyes and long, messy black hair reaching his neck. He favors wearing a gakuran over Edel Rose's standard uniform, deeming it too flashy. As a tribute to Kazuki, he attaches green buttons marked with a 'K' to his gakuran and wears a green wristband. His image color is green, reflecting his Prism Star branding.

Taiga displays a rash, rebellious personality often labeled delinquent or "yankee" by peers like Kakeru Jūōin. He typically maintains a stoic, bored expression and speaks sparingly. Despite an outwardly self-centered and stubborn demeanor, he harbors deep compassion and passion for street-style Prism Shows, Japanese festivals, and his idol Kazuki. He strongly opposes academy-style Prism performances. A defining trait is his inability to interact with women; physical contact or proximity triggers severe physical rejection reactions he cannot control, though he denies this weakness when confronted.

His story arc centers on defending Kazuki's legacy. He initially felt profound disappointment when Kazuki shifted to academy-style performances to attract female audiences, viewing it as a betrayal of street-style principles. This led to confrontations with Alexander Yamato of rival school Schwarz Rose, whom Taiga challenged in Prism Battles. He won one battle but faced disqualification for unauthorized interference. During the Prism 1 tournament, a similar incident resulted in a 50% score penalty for Edel Rose, contributing to their loss. Kazuki later endorsed Taiga as his successor in street-style Prism, affirming Taiga's dedication.

Taiga's performances feature tiger motifs, referencing his name's pronunciation ("taiga" resembling "tiger"). His signature Prism Jumps include "Burning Splash," "White Fan Zero," "Rising Tiger Hurricane," "Midsummer Night's Nebuta Dream," and "Bouquets for Fortune Boys." He performs to songs like "Legend World," "Fly in the Sky," and "Neo Street Stream." His style is officially categorized as "Tsundere Style," reflecting his combative yet loyal nature.

Beyond Prism, Taiga participates annually in Aomori's Nebuta Festival. Raised in Japan's top apple-producing region, he dislikes the sound of crunching apples with skin due to overexposure. He enjoys climbing trees for naps and tolerates cold weather well. His personal connections include a Pair Friend, a small tiger named Torachi, and a sister, Ozara Kōgami, who shared childhood photos with his Edel Rose peers.

Taiga won first place in the "Next Generation Prism Star Grand Election" popularity poll, securing a future Prism Show performance in sequels.
