Description
Taiga Kōgami, a street-style breakdancer, enrolled at Edel Rose fueled by intense admiration for Kazuki Nishina. Hailing from Aomori, Japan's leading apple-producing prefecture, he developed a distaste for the sound of crunching apples with skin. A childhood trip to Tokyo brought him face-to-face with Kazuki, who introduced him to Prism Shows, taught him performance basics, and invited him to participate in a school event. However, a typhoon forced Taiga's family back to Aomori prematurely, denying him his debut performance and a proper farewell to Kazuki.

He stands 167 cm tall with green eyes and long, messy black hair reaching his neck. Preferring it over the Edel Rose uniform, which he deems too flashy, he typically wears a gakuran, accessorized with a green wristband and green buttons bearing the letter 'K' as homage to Kazuki. His personality is tough and rebellious, often labeled a delinquent, marked by reserve and minimal speech. He exhibits significant discomfort around women, experiencing an allergic-like reaction when touched by them that renders him unable to function, though he denies this trait when questioned.

Beneath his aloof exterior lies deep passion for street-style Prism Shows, Japanese festivals—especially Aomori's Nebuta festival—and climbing trees for naps. His Prism performances feature distinct jumps: "Burning Splash," "White Fan Zero," "Rising Tiger Hurricane," "Midsummer Night's Nebuta Dream," and "Bouquets for Fortune Boys," often incorporating tiger motifs referencing his name. His admiration for Kazuki fuels a critical view of academy-style Prism Stars. He experienced disillusionment when Kazuki adopted academy-style performances to appeal to female audiences, perceiving it as a betrayal of street-style principles. This led him to challenge Alexander Yamato of rival school Schwarz Rose in defense of Kazuki's legacy, resulting in disqualification during the Prism 1 tournament for unauthorized interference.

Character development occurred through key conflicts. In "Pride the Hero," Kazuki helped him reconcile the dichotomy between street and academy styles, emphasizing audience engagement over rigid categorization. Despite this growth, his impulsive protectiveness reemerged in "Shiny Seven Stars," where another interference during a competition incurred a 50% score penalty and contributed to Edel Rose's defeat. Kazuki later nominated him as his successor for street-style Prism performance. His unit SePTENTRION performed "Brilliant Oath" in "Shiny Seven Stars," ranking second in the "Prism Show ☆ Best Ten" event. His solo performance "Fly in the Sky" ranked ninth.

He maintains a Pair Friend named Torachi, a small tiger. His songs across media include "Dramatic LOVE," "Legend World," "FREEDOM ~Taiga & Kazuki Ver~," "Neo Street Stream," "Sweet Sweet Replies," "Happy Happy Birthday," "Winter Eyes," "Ambivalence Place," and "Fly in the Sky."
