Description
Fifteen-year-old Taiga Kōgami attends Kakyoin Academy's Edel Rose division, hailing from Aomori Prefecture. Standing 167 cm tall, he possesses striking green eyes and long, messy black hair. He deliberately wears a gakuran instead of the standard uniform, accessorized with a green wristband and custom 'K' buttons signifying his admiration for Kazuki Nishina. Born May 4 with blood type A, his northern roots shape key traits.

Raised in Japan's premier apple-producing region, Taiga developed a profound aversion to the sound of crunching apples with skin—a weakness Minato Takahashi exploits. He finds solace climbing trees for naps and actively participates in local festivals like the annual Nebuta. His Aomori upbringing also granted him notable resilience to cold. A pivotal childhood chapter unfolded during a temporary family move to Tokyo, where he met Kazuki Nishina. Kazuki introduced him to prism shows and imparted basic techniques. Preparing for a school event performance, Taiga's chance to perform or say goodbye vanished when his family abruptly returned to Aomori during a typhoon. This encounter cemented his idolization of Kazuki and drove his enrollment at Edel Rose.

Taiga projects a tough, rebellious exterior often misinterpreted as delinquency, particularly by Kakeru Juuouin. He maintains a reserved demeanor, speaking minimally and seeming indifferent to others. Beneath this surface, however, lies deep compassion and intense passion for street-style prism shows, Japanese festivals, and unwavering devotion to Kazuki. He harbors strong distaste for academy-style prism performances and suffers severe, uncontrollable rejection reactions when touched by women—a trait he denies despite official profiles noting his inability to handle them.

His Edel Rose journey involves reconciling his idealized image of Kazuki with reality. Initial disillusionment struck when Kazuki shifted toward academy-style performances to appease audiences. Taiga later came to understand Kazuki's perspective during events like the Pride the Hero tournament, recognizing that genuine audience connection transcends performance style. Kazuki ultimately designated Taiga as his successor in street-style prism. Taiga's fiercely protective loyalty towards Kazuki frequently sparks impulsive actions; he intervened in Alexander Yamato's (Schwarz Rose) prism battles twice, incurring penalties. His interference during Alexander's Prism 1 Grand Prix performance resulted in a 50% score reduction, contributing to Edel Rose's loss.

Taiga's prism performances vividly reflect his background and personality. Signature jumps include "Burning Splash," "Midsummer Night's Nebuta Dream," and "Bouquets for Fortune Boys." Battle-specific jumps like "Rising Tiger Hurricane" incorporate tiger motifs—a nod to his name. His Pair Friend, Torachi, manifests as a tiger companion. He performs songs including "Legend World," "Fly in the Sky," and "Neo Street Stream." During Aomori's Nebuta Festival, he averted cancellation by improvising a prism show when Schwarz Rose's float failed to arrive.

Taiga claimed victory in the "Next Generation Prism Star Grand Election" popularity poll, securing the top position. He later ranked first in the "Prism King Cup Election," earning a prism show performance in a subsequent series installment.
