Description
Yukinojō Tachibana, a central figure in the KING OF PRISM franchise, is the seventh-generation heir to the esteemed kabuki lineage of the Kunitachiya family. Expected to become a prominent onnagata and uphold this tradition, he defies strong parental opposition by secretly enrolling at Edel Rose Academy under Kakyoin Academy to pursue Prism Star activities. This hidden pursuit stems from his desire to break free from personal constraints and express himself beyond kabuki, creating internal conflict as he conceals it from his family and the kabuki world.
His strikingly androgynous appearance features long red hair, often styled in a low side ponytail secured with a blue ribbon and accented by a traditional Japanese hairpiece above his ear; during performances, it shifts to a high ponytail sometimes incorporating braids. Sharp blue eyes and a fair complexion enhance his feminine presentation, frequently causing others to mistake him for a woman until he speaks. This ambiguity intensifies on stage, where he wears red eyeshadow and lipstick. His attire blends tradition with modernity, wearing a semi-long dark blue jacket over his academy uniform and donning kabuki-inspired costumes for performances, visually connecting his heritage to his contemporary idol endeavors.
Outwardly calm and emotionally reserved in daily life, Yukinojō rarely shows overt expressions. This stoicism starkly contrasts his highly expressive and dynamic stage presence during both kabuki and Prism performances. Trained as an onnagata, he possesses expert understanding of masculine and feminine expression nuances. He remains humble when receiving admiration, particularly from Leo Saionji, and often mentors his peers, reflecting his struggle to reconcile his traditional upbringing with his growth through Prism Shows.
As a Prism Star specializing in the "Sexy" style, he demonstrates exceptional technical skill. He achieved the highest score for Edel Rose in the Prism 1 Tournament and is one of only three known male Prism Stars capable of four consecutive Prism Jumps. His performances feature elaborate kabuki-inspired choreography and aesthetics. Signature Prism Jumps include "Thousand Year Blossom Splash," "Evening Moon Crimson Love," "Kunitachiya Spiral," "Dream-like State Hellish Love," and "King of 100 Flowers, Renjishi Spinning Flame Dance." His Prism Show songs, like "Hyakka Ryoran" and "Ageha Chou, Yume Mai Koi Shigure," fuse traditional Japanese motifs with contemporary idol music.
At Edel Rose, he co-founded the unit SePTENTRION. Relationships are crucial to his development; Leo Saionji deeply admires him, calling him "Yuki-sama" and drawing inspiration from his balance of feminine grace with masculine identity, receiving Yukinojō's patient mentorship in return. His family relationships remain strained due to his parents' disapproval of his Prism Star path, creating tension between duty and aspiration.
Personal details include a July 9 birthday, blood type B, and height of 177 cm. He owns a teddy bear named Andy, originally designed by Leo Saionji's father and also owned by Rizumu Amamiya. He sleeps in a yukata, collects Western hard rock albums, and struggles with basic cooking skills, particularly preparing rice. He ranked fifth in the "Next Generation Prism Star Grand Election."
