Louis Kisaragi, originally designated Rinne, functioned as a prism messenger within the Prism World's Rinne/Shine Program. Rinne guided female prism stars; Shine assisted male prism stars. When Shine violated protocol by performing public prism shows, the Prism G.O.D.s commanded Rinne to eliminate him. Driven by romantic feelings, Rinne instead sealed Shine using a prism jump. This defiance caused Rinne to develop errors, resulting in data erasure by the Prism G.O.D.s.
Reprogrammed into the Louis program with the mission to eliminate the reemerged Shine within Shin Ichijo, Louis retained past-life memories and rejected the mission. Crossing a thousand years to find Shin, Louis joined Schwarz Rose Academy under Jin Norizuki, becoming both a prism star and student.
