Inkarmat, an Ainu woman from Hokkaido's Saru district, was orphaned young. She first met Wilk, Asirpa's father, in Otaru, claiming she taught him Ainu culture there. Before Wilk left Otaru following his marriage, he gave her the traditional Ainu outfit she wears, which belonged to his mother. She predicted her own death in eastern Hokkaido, meaning she would never see Wilk again.
Her appearance features red-tinted brown eyes and dark reddish hair worn beneath a navy blue matanpushi headpiece, along with a traditional Ainu mouth tattoo. She wears red-beaded ninkari earrings, a dark red cinciri garment with intricate patterns, leather boots, a fox pelt around her neck, a tamasai bead necklace, and a sash bag on her left side. She stands shorter than Tsukishima, roughly the same height as Henmi and Anehata, taller than Nagakura and Ienaga, lighter than Anehata, and heavier than Asirpa and Cikapasi.
Inkarmat practices niwok (divination) using her family's sirakki kamuy – a white fox skull. She interprets how its jawbone falls when placed on her head to predict outcomes. She uses this skill for income, often swindling people through bets or selling remedies, but also for personal reassurance, like repeatedly checking Wilk's fate before the Abashiri Prison break.
Her personality blends slyness, assertiveness, and cunning. She leverages spiritual knowledge and deduction to manipulate perceptions, enjoying the financial gains from fortune-telling. Despite self-serving tendencies, she shows loyalty to those she bonds with, like Tanigaki and Cikapasi, and cares deeply about the welfare of the Ainu people. She likes rabbit meat but dislikes dogs.
In the Immortal Beast Arc, Inkarmat met Sugimoto's group in Yufutsu, Tomakomai. Her predictions captivated Shiraishi, whom she accompanied to the Tomakomai Race Track. She used divination to win bets before disappearing with his money. Confronted by Asirpa, she remarked on the similarity of Asirpa's eyes to Wilk's and fled. Later, in the Edogai Arc, she arrived at an Ainu village seeking a blue-eyed girl (Asirpa) and revealed to Tanigaki that he had lost his sister. After warning Asirpa's family about a potential betrayal by one of her companions, she joined Tanigaki to protect Asirpa, under a secret agreement with Lieutenant Tsurumi to use Tanigaki as an asset.
During the Con Artists Arc, Inkarmat and Tanigaki encountered Cikapasi in Barato. She supported taking him along, suggesting they pose as a family to avoid suspicion. Her interactions with Cikapasi occasionally showed warmth, such as smiling at his enthusiasm for their familial roles. In Iwamizawa, she offered fortune-telling services to locals while gathering information about Sugimoto's group.
In the Blind Bandits Arc, she openly accused Kiroranke of planning to betray Asirpa, citing Wilk's murder. This caused tensions within Sugimoto's group, worsened when Ogata exposed her collaboration with Tsurumi. Later, in the Abashiri Prison Arc, she was severely injured. While her survival remained uncertain, she promised Tanigaki she would live, though her condition left her vulnerable to potential manipulation by Tsurumi.
Her relationships define key character aspects. Her bond with Tanigaki and Cikapasi evolved into a makeshift family, though she initially concealed her deal with Tsurumi from them. Parallels exist between her and Ogata: both are solitary figures struggling with trust and group dynamics, often acting independently to pursue personal goals. Her motivations are deeply tied to Wilk—driving her to protect Asirpa while seeking vengeance for his death.
Her role extends beyond manipulation; she serves as a connection to Ainu cultural practices and the political struggles of the Ainu people. Her knowledge of Wilk's past and potential insights about Asirpa's mother suggest deeper narrative significance. Her fate after the Abashiri incident is unclear, leaving potential for her to reemerge in conflicts involving Tsurumi or Ogata.
