Mirai is a freshman at Hebijo Clandestine Girls' Academy, operating as one of its dark shinobi. She participates in a seaside training session on Shinobi Island alongside students from Hanzō National Academy. During this session, Mirai and Hikage launch an attack, treating combat with irreverence before abruptly withdrawing rather than seeking a decisive outcome. Later, under Hebijo Academy orders, Mirai joins a coordinated assault on Hanzō Academy. In this operation, Haruka uses puppets to distract the Hanzō students while a linked barrier activates to isolate them. Mirai faces Yagyū in one such isolated combat scenario. Defeated by Yagyū, Mirai's loss creates a critical vulnerability in the Linked Shinobi Barrier system, ultimately contributing to the Hebijo forces' retreat.
