Description
Ai begins as a 16-year-old ballet dancer, initially ordinary and plagued by feelings of inadequacy when comparing herself to her talented friend Machi. Her character is virtuous, passionate, and hardworking, marked by courage and a sense of justice. However, she tends to believe others too easily and displays occasional airheadedness. Her world revolves around a close friendship forged through their shared passion for dance, a dynamic shattered upon discovering Machi's secret involving the Aguu—palm-sized entities that grant exceptional talents to their hosts.

Resolving to save Machi after learning she has become a "Seamstress" (a creator of Aguu), Ai joins the "Saviors," a group dedicated to opposing the Seamstresses across generations. Her early actions include confronting Machi about the Aguu and betraying her trust by attempting to place a sealing talisman on her. During a later confrontation at an Aguu market, Ai flees after a fire breaks out, leaving Machi behind.

Following a time skip, Ai travels with fellow Saviors: Rashō, an elderly Go specialist, and Rafu, a hot-tempered fighter, though Rafu later disappears from the narrative. Her development involves direct confrontations with antagonists like the Seamstress Christie Ross (Machi) and the flamboyant Erubato, evolving her motivations from personal rescue to broader conflict. She actively participates in battles against the Seamstresses, utilizing the Saviors' methods to combat the supernatural forces behind the Aguu.

The narrative concludes with unresolved elements: new conflicts emerge, and key questions about the Aguu system remain unanswered, leaving Ai's journey incomplete.
