Shirotsugh Lhadatt, commonly called Shiro, comes from a middle-class countryside background. His initial aspiration to become a Navy fighter pilot ended in failure due to poor academic performance. This setback pushed him toward the marginalized and underfunded Royal Space Force, where his lack of direction mirrored his unremarkable origins. His life shifted dramatically upon meeting Riquinni Nonderaiko, a devoutly religious woman living in poverty while caring for an orphaned girl named Manna. Riquinni's idealism about humanity's potential and the symbolic importance of space reignited Shiro's sense of purpose, motivating him to volunteer as the first astronaut candidate for the struggling program.

Shiro's training coincided with his maturation. He faced technological hurdles, public criticism over the program's cost amid widespread poverty, and political exploitation by superiors like General Khaidenn. Khaidenn deceitfully framed the rocket as a military asset to secure funding, exacerbating tensions with the neighboring Republic and pushing both nations toward war. During a period of disillusionment, Shiro fled the Space Force and stayed with Riquinni. After observing her retrieve money hidden in her boot, hinting at possible prostitution for survival, he confronted her about compromising her principles. In a moment of frustration and perceived betrayal, he attempted to sexually assault her as she undressed. He stopped his actions before she could defend herself, after which she expressed self-blame due to her religious convictions. This incident forced Shiro to recognize his capacity for violence and his indirect role in societal injustices through the military-industrial complex.

Shiro returned to duty but faced an assassination attempt by the Republic, heightening the mission's stakes. He reconciled with Manna and bid a subdued farewell to Riquinni before departing for the launch site, now relocated to a demilitarized zone as a provocation. Amid an imminent Republic invasion and with the launch sequence accelerated, Shiro refused to abort despite the danger. He delivered a decisive speech compelling the ground crew to proceed under fire. His successful launch into orbit temporarily halted the conflict as soldiers on both sides witnessed the ascent. From space, he broadcast a plea for human reconciliation, reflecting on humanity's achievements and self-destructive tendencies, and appealed for divine mercy. His perspective broadened to encompass his personal journey and a contemplation of history, culminating in a vision of Earth's fragility and potential.

Shiro was intended to reappear in the canceled sequel *Uru in Blue*.
