Description
Luc Bernard is a French actor primarily known for his extensive work in dubbing, providing the French voices for numerous characters in live-action films, television series, and animated works. He was born on March 21, 1958. Bernard began his acting career at the age of twenty, starting with small roles at the Comédie-Française before studying drama under Tania Balachova and Vera Gregh. His on-screen career includes appearances in over a dozen films, such as a role in Luc Besson's Léon, and many television series, where he often portrayed unsympathetic guest characters. In 1999, he relocated from Paris to a farm in Courgenard but continued his work as an actor.

While his on-screen work is notable, Bernard became particularly specialized in dubbing, especially for video games and animation. He is the regular French voice for actors Dolph Lundgren and Mark Moses, and has also dubbed Peter Weller.

In the realm of anime, Bernard has lent his voice to a wide array of characters across many series and films, becoming a familiar presence to French audiences of animated productions. Among his most recognized roles is Shiro in the landmark 1987 Gainax film Royal Space Force: The Wings of Honnêamise. He also voiced the character Charlie in the French dub of the long-running fishing anime Tsurikichi Sampei, known in French as Paul le Pêcheur. In the motorsports anime Arrow Emblem Grand Prix no Taka, Bernard took on multiple roles, including the legendary Formula One driver Nicky Lauda, as well as characters named Ken and Mr. Katori. His other significant anime voice credits include the role of Busujima in Psycho Diver: Soul Siren, Ken in Ken the Survivor (Hokuto no Ken), Cyclops in X-Men, D'Artagnan in the 1986 series The Three Musketeers, and Galudo in Macross Plus.

Beyond anime, Bernard's dubbing career is expansive. He provided voices for characters in Western animated series such as The Bots Master and COPS. He is also highly active in video game dubbing, with notable roles including Double H in Beyond Good & Evil and Nick Valentine in the critically acclaimed Fallout 4. His work spans decades, and he remains active in the industry, occasionally returning to dubbing roles while balancing his life outside of Paris.
