TV-Series
Description
Lannion is a young orphan living at Grace Field House, one of the many children raised in what initially appears to be a peaceful orphanage. He is a seven-year-old boy with short blonde hair and blue eyes, assigned the identification number 54294. He stands about 125 centimeters tall during his time at the house.
In terms of background, Lannion is one of the younger residents of Grace Field House, part of the large family of children cared for by Isabella, whom they call Mama. Like all the children at the facility, he is unaware of the true purpose of the orphanage for much of the story, believing it to be a happy home where they play, study, and take daily tests.
Lannion has a mischievous and energetic personality. He is playful, curious, and enjoys inventing and building things with his hands, as well as playing pretend, chasing his siblings, and catching bugs. His most defining trait is his close friendship with Thoma, with whom he often teams up to pull pranks on the other children. He is resourceful and clever when it comes to solving practical problems, showing a knack for handicraft and coming up with creative solutions. Despite his playful exterior, Lannion can be blunt and straightforward, saying what he thinks without much filter. He is also somewhat cowardly, showing fear in dangerous or uncertain situations, but this does not prevent him from demonstrating a strong will when it truly matters. He cares deeply for his family of siblings and is loyal to them.
His motivations are rooted in the desire to stay with his family and to protect the bonds he has formed. Like the other children, once he learns the horrifying truth of their situation, he becomes driven to escape and survive alongside his brothers and sisters.
Lannion plays a supporting but memorable role in the story of the escape from Grace Field House. While he is not one of the older masterminds behind the plan, his resourcefulness proves important. He is credited with inventing a water rocket with a rope attached to it, a device that plays a significant part in the escape by allowing the children to cross the cliff that surrounds the property. This invention shows that his creative and hands-on nature contributes directly to the group's success.
His key relationships are with his best friend Thoma, with whom he shares almost all of his adventures and mischief, and the older children like Emma, Norman, and Ray, whom he looks up to as leaders and protectors. He is also close to the other younger children, forming part of the tight-knit family unit that is central to the story.
Over the course of the story, Lannion develops from a carefree, prank-loving child into someone who faces the harsh reality of his world with courage. While he remains playful and childish, he also matures through the shared struggle for freedom, showing that even the younger members of the family can contribute meaningfully to their collective survival.
His notable abilities include a talent for inventing and building useful gadgets, as demonstrated by the water rocket he creates. He is also physically active and enjoys running and playing, though he is not singled out for exceptional athletic or academic prowess compared to the older protagonists. His greatest strength lies in his cleverness and his ability to think of practical solutions when they are most needed.
