Description
Emilia is a sixteen-year-old student at the prestigious Flora Girls' Academy and the proud, determined leader of the demi-human unit IV KLORE. She hails from the country of Dordtgard and is the daughter of a noble succubus family. Physically, she has long, wavy lavender hair and sharp red eyes, and at 164 centimeters tall, she is the tallest member of her unit.
On the surface, Emilia presents a haughty, upright, and somewhat prickly demeanor. She is a perfectionist with a strong sense of pride and a fierce dedication to maintaining order, which is why she serves on the school's Public Morals Committee. This outward sternness is partly a result of her sheltered upbringing as a noble, which has left her somewhat naive and unfamiliar with the ways of the common world. A key facet of her personality is her intense dislike of men, a trait that stands in stark contrast to her nature as a succubus. However, beneath this formidable exterior lies a surprisingly kind, friendly, and gentle person. She is a secret fan of shoujo manga, particularly stories about witches and healthy romance, revealing an innocent and pure-hearted side.
Emilia's most defining trait is her innate magical ability, Energy Drain. This power involuntarily saps the life force from any human who comes into physical contact with her, often causing them to lose consciousness. Because she cannot control this ability and has no desire to harm others, she goes out of her way to avoid physical contact and keeps most people at a distance. This power is ineffective against other demi-humans, which allows her to interact freely with her unit members. Despite this formidable power, Emilia has a notable fear of ghosts and supernatural phenomena, a weakness that often causes her to panic and forget her own abilities, inadvertently affecting those around her.
As the leader of IV KLORE, Emilia is trusted implicitly by her teammates, who rely on her as the unit's strongest and most skilled singer. While she is officially in charge, she is frequently swayed or overwhelmed by the unique and strong personalities of the other members, particularly her childhood friend and servant, Alpha. Alpha has been by her side since childhood, and despite their master-servant relationship, Alpha often teases her, much to Emilia's exasperation. Another key relationship is with Salsa, who is also a childhood friend from Dordtgard. The unit later expands to include Garnet, a ghost who becomes intensely attached to Emilia, much to the succubus's frightened dismay, but whom she ultimately accepts as a friend.
Throughout the story, Emilia's interactions with others reveal her softer, more caring nature. She shares a friendly, if initially tsundere, rivalry with Tiara of the unit LiGHTs, developing respect for her as a worthy opponent and offering her encouragement and support. While she claims her generosity and kindness are merely acts of noblesse oblige, she genuinely helps her fellow students, such as when she attempted to give handmade cookies to the members of LiGHTs to support them. Her character development is subtle but focuses on her learning to lower the walls she has built around herself. Despite her best efforts to maintain a cold and professional image, the warmth and persistence of her friends gradually bring her true, kind personality to the forefront, helping her to open up and form deeper connections beyond the barrier of her dangerous ability.
