Description
Sullivan ranks among the Netherworld's most formidable demons, holding the position of Babyls Demon School's principal and a seat on the Thirteen Crowns ruling council. As one of the legendary "Three Greats," his immense power and influence position him as a primary candidate for the next Demon King, an honor he consistently declines. His life pivoted upon adopting Iruma Suzuki, a human boy sold by his parents, driven solely by a longing for grandchildren after observing peers' boasts. This adoption redirects his ambitions toward nurturing Iruma's development over pursuing status.

Physically, Sullivan stands 195 cm tall as a gaunt, elderly demon with a bald head, bull-like horns, and an oversized mustache. His appearance dynamically shifts: simplified and egg-shaped during comedic or affectionate moments, but sharpening into a menacing figure with visible golden eyes when enraged or serious, visually embodying his dual nature.

Personality-wise, Sullivan dotes obsessively on Iruma, celebrating with lavish parties and gifts while displaying whimsical, childish selfishness. This contrasts starkly with his lethal authority when Iruma faces threats or his past with Derkila is mocked. As principal, he enforces fairness, deliberately avoiding academic favoritism toward Iruma to foster independence. Subordinates like Opera or teachers like Kalego Naberius routinely temper his eccentricities.

His magic ranks among the Netherworld's apex, demonstrated by freezing city-scale debris, summoning shadow-beasts, or paralyzing elite demons like Henri Azazel with a glare. He senses distant magical threats preemptively and deliberately maintains his Tet rank (9), though qualified to ascend. His combat ferocity surfaces when nearly killing the enemy Atori for endangering Iruma and invoking Derkila's "curse."

Key relationships define him: grandfatherly devotion to Iruma fuels protective acts; Opera balances his loyalty with pragmatic oversight; his obscured history with the vanished Demon King Derkila involves a blood-soaked incident, a curse barring kingship, and unresolved loyalty. Professional ties elicit respect or exasperation, notably from Kalego.

Throughout events, Sullivan orchestrates Iruma's placement in the Misfit Class to hide his humanity alongside Alice Asmodeus and Clara Valac. He serves as the circumvented final boss in the Heartbreaker exam and intervenes critically during crises—halting Battler Party debris or confronting kidnappers like Atori. In demon leadership, he selects new Thirteen Crowns and attends ceremonies honoring Iruma's growth. The "IruMafia Edition" spin-off reimagines him as a mafia boss who adopts Iruma identically, preserving his protective core and influence.
