Description
Tetsuro Arahabaki, son of Beruhren Corporation CEO Soichiro Arahabaki, endured experimental procedures implanting the Harmonie device into his spinal cord and medulla oblongata. This device enables remote control of Extended cybernetic bodies by overriding their auxiliary brains, though Beruhren intended to suppress his consciousness and agency during operation.

The experiments lacerated muscles and nerve endings in his original limbs and severed his vocal cords, initially rendering him immobile and mute. Cybernetic limb extensions and a vocal apparatus from Mary Steinberg restored mobility and communication via a discarded Extended head. Physically, he presents as a slender teenager with hazel eyes, straight black hair, bandaged neck, and simple attire.

His personality merges profound loathing for those harming him and other children with persistent idealism and nobility. Impulsive actions often trigger unintended consequences despite good intentions. After escaping Beruhren, he sought protection from Juzo Inui, establishing a partnership of mutual aid. This dynamic shifts him from a protected ward to an active combatant against corporate exploitation.

His Harmonie-enabled control of Extendeds proves pivotal in conflicts: early instances include hijacking a decoy Extended to evade capture and commandeering Juzo’s body to rescue children from Beruhren agents like Ende and Anne. Such interventions sometimes backfire, like revealing his location to adversaries such as Hugh Cunningham. He later refines Harmony usage, targeting his own sub-brain for combat prowess and demonstrating precision in critical battles.

Moral conflicts intensify when regained pre-experiment memories reveal he funded the anti-Extended group Spitzbergen to undermine Beruhren’s tyranny, not from prejudice. This layers his motivations with guilt and reinforced resolve against corporate abuse. Key developments include defeating Ende by weaponizing Juzo and covertly controlling EMS agents to aid allies like Olivier Vandeberme.

Using Harmony leaves his physical body defenseless, a vulnerability exploited during confrontations—such as poison bullets incapacitating him against Ende. These ordeals test his resilience, culminating in proactive stances like demanding Juzo’s trust after EMS captivity.

His relationship with Juzo evolves from dependency to mutual reliance, marked by Juzo permitting temporary use of his body as a weapon despite initial prohibitions. This trust underscores his growth from victimized test subject to determined challenger of Beruhren’s influence.
