Description
Tetsurō Arahabaki, son of Berühren Corporation CEO Soichiro Arahabaki, was forcibly subjected to experimental procedures that implanted the "Harmony" device in his medulla oblongata. This implant allows him to remotely hijack neural systems of Extended (cyborg) bodies, turning them into puppets. The invasive experiments deliberately severed his limb tendons and vocal cords, rendering him initially immobile and mute as a containment measure.
After escaping Berühren, Tetsurō sought sanctuary with Resolver Juzo Inui, who arranged medical aid from Kyusei Pit engineer Mary Steinberg. Mary outfitted him with cybernetic limb extensions for mobility and provided a discarded Extended head. Using Harmony, Tetsurō projects speech through this head since his natural vocal cords remain nonfunctional.
Fundamentally kind yet trauma-driven, Tetsurō acts impulsively to prevent suffering—especially Berühren's exploitation of children. Early on, he repeatedly hijacked Juzo's body against warnings, believing it necessary for protection. These actions backfired catastrophically, such as alerting Berühren agents or nearly getting Juzo killed.
Fragmented memories plague him. Initially, he recalled funding anti-Extended group Spitzbergen, fearing personal prejudice. Later recollections revealed his true motive: covert resistance against Berühren's tyranny. This duality fuels his internal conflict between guilt and idealism.
His relationship with Juzo evolves from dependence toward mutual respect. Juzo's mantra of self-reliance ("wipe your own ass") profoundly impacts Tetsurō, though he initially misapplies it to justify recklessness. When Juzo condemns his objectification of others as mirroring Berühren's cruelty, Tetsurō shifts toward collaboration. His technical mastery of Harmony grows—he learns precision targeting (like halting a berserk Extended's arm) and later self-targets to activate his sub-brain for combat.
Pivotal moments highlight his sacrificial resolve. He negotiates with Professor Wachowski, offering to unlock Juzo's suppressed combat potential in exchange for hostages' safety, marking his transition from victim to active resistance fighter.
Physically, Tetsurō appears as a black-haired, gray-eyed teenage boy with a slender build. Surgical scars mark his limbs, often concealed by simple clothing. Bandages cover his neck, hiding the Harmony implant.
