TV-Series
Description
Keitas father, known as Aaron Adams in the English localization, is a supporting character in the Yo-kai Watch series. He lives in the town of Springdale with his wife, Lily, and his son, Nate, also known as Keita in the original Japanese version. He works as a salaryman, an ordinary office worker, and his family life serves as a common setting for many Yo-kai disturbances. In terms of personality, he generally presents a calm and caring demeanor, showing deep affection for his family beneath his otherwise ordinary exterior. He is dedicated to his work and his professional competence is exceptional, as he successfully earns a promotion that requires the family to relocate from Springdale to the city of St. Peanutsburg in the region of BBQ, which is narratively analogous to the United States, during the events of Yo-kai Watch 3.

His primary motivations revolve around balancing his responsibilities as a provider for his family with his role as a loving husband and father. This dedication is demonstrated when he resists the influence of the Yo-kai Lazy Sundae, who tries to make him abandon Lily and Nate to go on a work trip with his boss. His strong will allows him to overcome the Yo-kai's supernatural power. Within the story, Keitas father often finds himself the unwitting target of mischievous Yo-kai. In his debut appearance, he and his wife are seen arguing over yogurt after being inspirited by Dismarelda, a Yo-kai who feeds on marital discord. This conflict is resolved when the Yo-kai Happierre inspirits the couple, leading them to reconcile. On another occasion for Mother's Day, he and Nate give gifts to Lily, but when she becomes whiny due to the influence of the Yo-kai Sunesnake, his attempts to reason with her fail. Nate calls upon the Yo-kai Honobono, who possesses Keitas father to make his apologies more heartfelt, which successfully breaks the Yo-kai's control.

His key relationships are central to his identity. He is the husband of Lily Adams, and their marriage is noted by the Yo-kai Whisper to be so affectionate that Dismarelda was once envious of their bond. He is the father of Nate Adams, and while his interactions are generally less emotionally charged than Lily's, their relationship is consistently portrayed as supportive and stable. He is also the son of Nathaniel and Lucy Loo, making him a member of the family line connected to the creation of the original Yo-kai Watch.

As the series progresses, his role develops significantly in Yo-kai Watch 3 due to his job transfer. Following the move to St. Peanutsburg, he unexpectedly displays fluency in the local dialect, which Nate struggles with. It is later revealed that this fluency was not his own but the result of being inspirited by a local Merican Yo-kai named Lionguist. By the end of the games story, after Nate befriends Lionguist, the Yo-kai ceases to inspirit his father. Without this supernatural aid, Aaron struggles to communicate with his colleagues and is ultimately recalled by his company to the main office in Springdale. Keitas father does not possess any supernatural abilities of his own. His only notable ability is an instance of strong willpower, allowing him to resist the possession of the Yo-kai Lazy Sundae to fulfill his family obligations. He is otherwise a normal human who is frequently subject to Yo-kai influence. In the Japanese version of the series, he lacks a distinct name and is referred to simply as Keita no Chichi, meaning Keitas Father.
