Ryuzu Bilma is one of the Ryuzu Meyer clones inhabiting the Sanctuary, products of Echidna's experiments seeking immortality. These clones originated when Echidna utilized a magic crystal tied to the Sanctuary's barrier, creating empty vessels intended to house her soul and knowledge. The experiment failed due to incompatibility between Echidna's soul and the vessels, resulting instead in clones developing distinct personalities. Bilma belongs to a specific group among these clones, alongside Shima, Alma, and Delma. Garfiel Tinzel regards them collectively as grandmother figures, frequently interacting with them as family. Bilma demonstrates particular concern for Garfiel's well-being, notably discussing the source of his emotional pain with Natsuki Subaru during Arc 4 events. Her role involves supporting the Sanctuary community, such as assisting Shima when she becomes fatigued after revealing critical Sanctuary origins information to Subaru. The clones exhibit varying levels of self-awareness, with Bilma belonging to the more autonomous group. Following the Sanctuary's crisis, Subaru, Garfiel, and the primary Ryuzus work to foster individuality in less self-aware clones like Pico through distinct names, hairstyles, and ribbons. Bilma's existence remains intrinsically linked to the Sanctuary's foundational history, including the original Ryuzu Meyer's sacrifice to establish its barrier and Echidna's subsequent, unfinished pursuits of immortality.
