Description
Gii, whose full name is Gi Tata Oota, is a character who exists as a wizard within the fictional anime series produced at the KOHATA Anime Studio. His design is purposefully malevolent, and he serves as the primary antagonist in his home narrative, defined by his perpetual conflict with the heroic magical girl Coco Lily Frau. This role as an evil wizard is his core identity; his actions and motivations are almost entirely derived from this function, as he constantly schemes to sabotage the protagonist's endeavors and create obstacles for her to overcome.

Within the events of Baja's story, Gii is one of the anime characters who magically springs to life from his action figure form, becoming a tangible threat in the real world of the animation studio. His primary action in this narrative is to appear one night and attack Ga-chan, a duck-shaped toy that lives in the studio's pond and is Baja's cherished friend. This unprovoked assault directly creates the central conflict that forces the hamster Baja to embark on a quest to rescue his comrade. Gii's power as a sorcerer includes the ability to manipulate reality and animate inanimate objects, most notably bringing the duck toy to life, which underscores how he endangers Ga-chan in the first place. He also demonstrates the capacity to cast powerful spells, using his evil magic to banish Coco from the studio, which further escalates the crisis.

Gii’s role is perceived exclusively from Baja’s perspective, where he is a direct and pure threat with no redeeming qualities. The narrative does not grant him significant depth, complexity, or a backstory that would explain his behavior; instead, his entire purpose is to be a source of conflict and to test the courage of the protagonists. In a meta-layer to the story, the creation of Gii as a character is implied to be a point of contention within the studio itself, as some creators feel his design is too frightening to serve as an appropriate enemy for the cheerful Coco. However, despite this initial friction, the fictional production issues are resolved, allowing the story to continue.

In his relationship with Coco, the dynamic is one of classic, unyielding opposition. Gii exists to challenge her, and their final confrontation in Baja's world ends with the wizard being defeated. Following his loss, Gii performs an act that hints at a resolution: he apologizes and uses his magic to revive Ga-chan, restoring the duck to life and bringing the immediate adventure to a peaceful close. The character does not exhibit any notable personal development or layered evolution beyond his designated function as an antagonist, remaining a static figure defined by his role as a very evil wizard. His abilities are consistently magical in nature, centered around spellcasting and the animation of lifeless objects, which he solely employs to fulfill his antagonistic role. In a later story, Gii once again creates trouble by leaving a stormy sea, causing Ga-chan to be carried away by the current and forcing another rescue.
