Description
Neko, also known as Miyabi Ameno, possesses heterochromia iridum—a green left eye and light blue right eye resulting from the Kagutsu Crater incident. Long, pale pink hair frames her face, and she accessorizes with golden bells: one adorning her left ear, another on a red collar around her neck, and a third on a matching collar around her right ankle. Her physical form shifts between that of a human girl and a small pink-furred cat, retaining all abilities in either state.

Her origins lie in the Kagutsu Crater tragedy, where she lost her parents and memories as a young child. A couple grieving their son adopted her; unknowingly, she used her powers to manipulate their memories, making them believe she was their daughter. Members of the Gold Clan later shattered this illusion, forcing her to lift her powers and revealing the truth. Rejected as a "monster" by the couple, she found inspiration in the book "I Am a Cat." Adopting the identity of a stray, she named herself Neko and lived on Ashinaka High School's campus. There, she observed student life before encountering a young man who fell through the gymnasium roof. Unable to recall his name, she employed her abilities to implant false memories in him and the school, creating the identity Yashiro Isana and integrating him into their reality.

Neko's primary abilities involve sensory interference and memory manipulation, activated by her bells' chimes. She conjures illusions distorting all five senses—altering environmental perceptions or manifesting phantom objects and beings, often featuring cat-themed motifs. These illusions can blanket large areas like entire islands for days, weakening if she moves out of range or encounters disruption from a King's power. Her memory manipulation fabricated Yashiro's identity and erased his past, though the effect remains geographically limited; individuals outside her proximity, like Kukuri Yukizome, stay unaffected.

Personality-wise, Neko exhibits a carefree, playful demeanor marked by naivete and occasional recklessness, interpreting dangerous actions as helpful. She is gluttonous, favoring salted horse mackerel, fish, and spicy rice crackers, often stealing or demanding more. Deeming clothing restrictive, she typically avoids it. She displays intense possessiveness over Yashiro, referring to him as "Neko's Shiro." Fear of abandonment, rooted in past trauma, fuels her secrecy about their first meeting and reluctance to restore his memories. Despite outward confidence in using her powers for protection, she harbors deep insecurity about human connections.

Throughout the franchise, her development centers on forming bonds with Yashiro and Kuroh Yatogami. After the Dresden Slate's destruction, she enrolls as a student at Ashinaka High School, symbolizing her societal reintegration. In the film *K: Seven Stories*, she appears in *Circle Vision ~Nameless Song~*, depicting vignettes of characters like Adolf K. Weismann and Seri Awashima under the theme "mournful sights brought about by a small prayer." She also features in the spin-off short *The Idol K*, where Yashiro, Kuroh, and others manage idol agencies with conflicting philosophies.
