Description
Laala Manaka stars as the central protagonist throughout multiple PriPara series. She starts as a fifth-grade student at Paprika Private Academy, advances to sixth grade, and later transfers to Avocado Academy. Her family owns a Parajuku pizzeria, and she has a younger sister named Non. Laala's idol journey begins when she discovers Mirei Minami's lost PriTicket bag, granting access to PriPara's virtual world where users adopt idol personas.

Sporting lavender hair and teal eyes, Laala wears her hair in two buns outside PriPara, featuring a pink bow with a yellow heart gifted by Nao Ehime. During performances, her idol form matures to middle-school height with thigh-length pigtails while retaining her signature bow across nearly all coords. She remains the shortest among main idols.

Her personality blends cheerfulness, determination, and occasional stubbornness. She frequently exclaims "Capisce!" (かしこまっ!, Kashikoma!), reflecting her restaurant upbringing. Despite her loud speaking voice, she initially sings softly due to shyness, only finding vocal confidence within PriPara. Her undefined "Prism Voice" ability influences her singing.

Laala co-founds the idol unit SoLaMi♡SMILE with Mirei Minami and Sophy Hojo under bear-like manager Kuma. The unit later merges with Dressing Pafé (Sion Todo, Dorothy West, Reona West) to form SoLaMi♡Dressing. Key bonds include her friendship with Nao Ehime; her revival of robotic vocal doll Falulu via PriTicket exchange; and her maternal care for mysterious baby Jewlulu—later revealed as judge Jewlie—during the Divine Idol Grand Prix arc, raising her with Non's help.

Her idol milestones include pioneering the first solo debut without audience glow themes, first Super Cyalume Coord obtainment, and exclusive Cyalume Baton usage for the Kami Idol Challenge. Performance coords evolve through Twinkle Ribbon variants, SoLaMi♡SMILE team outfits, and Paparajuku Lovely Color Coord. She alone obtains the Final Fairy.

In Idol Time PriPara, Laala appears as deuteragonist alongside Yui Yumekawa, experiencing temporary idol form alterations from PriTicket damage until repaired by Falala. She features centrally in Idol Land PriPara with Amari Katasumi and exists as a virtual mascot in Kiratto Pri☆Chan.

Her name originates from the sixth Solfège note, fulfilling her mother's wish for her to "always sing 'la-la-la' happily." The surname Manaka (真中) means "center," contrasting with unitmates Mirei ("south") and Sophy ("north"). Born November 20 (Scorpio), she shares her birthday with Nao and unrelated character Mai Mishou.
