Description
Laala Manaka stands as a central figure throughout the PriPara franchise. An ordinary elementary school student at the start, her path dramatically shifts when she discovers a lost PriTicket bag. This discovery propels her into the virtual idol world of PriPara, catalyzing her journey to become an idol despite initial reservations about breaking rules and insecurities over her naturally loud speaking voice contrasting with her initially quiet singing—except during performances where she gains confidence.

She possesses lavender hair typically styled in two buns, adorned with a distinctive pink bow featuring a yellow heart center, and teal eyes. Entering PriPara triggers a transformation: she grows taller, matching a middle schooler's height, and her hair extends into long pigtails reaching her thighs. The pink bow, a gift from her school friend Nao Ehime, remains a consistent signature accessory across most coords and even during Cyalume Changes. Her personality radiates energetic cheerfulness, determination, and occasional stubbornness. She frequently uses the catchphrase "Kashikoma!" when accepting requests, a habit stemming from her family's restaurant background. Laala demonstrates strong loyalty to friends and prioritizes others' happiness, though this trait sometimes leads to interpersonal friction.

Key relationships define her growth. She maintains a close bond with her younger sister, Non, who initially helps conceal her idol activities, and her school best friend Nao Ehime, with whom she shares a birthday. Within PriPara, Mirei Minami acts as her primary mentor and friend, convincing her to pursue idolhood and co-founding the unit SoLaMi♡SMILE alongside Sophy Hojo. Her pivotal bond with Falulu, who recognizes Laala's "Prism Voice" ability, proves crucial during crises, notably when they exchange Friend Tickets after overcoming Falulu's coma. Laala later adopts Jewlulu, further expanding her familial role. Her story intersects with major events, such as leading efforts to rescue PriPara in the *Mi~nna no Akogare Let's Go PriPari* film. Responding to Falulu's distress call about disappearing "sparkle," she travels across regions with allies to confront a crisis originating from a feud between the Ookanda sisters. Laala coordinates performances to gather "likes" and restore positivity, culminating in a collective idol performance that resolves the conflict.

Her idol evolution includes multiple coords, such as the Twinkle Ribbon Cyalume Coord and later upgrades like the Dream Twinkle Ribbon variant. She pioneers several achievements: obtaining the first Super Cyalume Coord, receiving the Cyalume Baton for the Kami Idol Challenge, and becoming the sole idol to attain the Final Fairy status. A temporary regression to her pre-transformation appearance occurs when her PriTicket is damaged, though it is later repaired. Unique traits include her "Prism Voice" ability, noted by Kuma and Falulu though its full effects remain undefined, and her tendency to mispronounce words. Her name derives from the solfège note "La," and her surname "Manaka" (center) contrasts directionally with unitmates' surnames—Mirei "Minami" (south) and Sophy "Hojo" (north).
