Description
The character known as the Queen appears in two distinct interpretations within the Hello Kitty universe.
In one version, she is Queen Catnip, a wicked and selfish ruler of her own kingdom. Consumed by jealousy after a crystal ball declares Snow White Kitty the "fairest feline," she orders Hunter Chip to banish her rival. When banishment fails, Queen Catnip personally intervenes. First, she sends poisoned flowers disguised as a gift, causing Snow White Kitty to collapse. Later, using a spellbook, she transforms herself into an old woman and gifts a cursed teddy bear that plunges Snow White Kitty into an enchanted sleep. A critical flaw traps Queen Catnip permanently in her aged disguise due to the absence of a counter-spell. Her actions ultimately lead to the banishment of all her subjects, leaving her isolated and mentally broken within her empty castle.
In a separate adaptation, she is Lady Chrystal, an evil, selfish, and ambitious queen who succeeds the previous ruler and practices dark sorcery. Jealous of Snow White's beauty, she drinks a potion to transform into an old witch. She makes three direct attempts on Snow White's life: a poisoned ribbon, an enchanted comb, and finally a poisoned apple that induces an enchanted sleep. Lady Chrystal's motive for the apple extends beyond jealousy; she seeks to transfer her soul into Snow White's body to escape the rapid aging inflicted by using dark magic against a pure soul. Her story concludes when she is struck and killed by a giant boulder during a thunderstorm while pursuing Snow White.
