Description
Phoenix, also known as Tsubasa Akai and called the Messenger of the Southern Cross, is a major supporting character introduced in the third season of Mysterious Joker. He is a strange and mysterious figure who takes a strong interest in Joker, and his presence complicates the season's events in ways that set him apart from the ordinary thieves and adversaries Joker has encountered before. Although he appears as a young human boy, Phoenix is not human at all. He is an alien who crash-landed on Earth in an escape pod ten thousand years ago alongside his companion Acrux, and he has spent the long centuries since trying to find a way back home. Before the start of the season he was sealed away for more than three thousand years, which left him unfamiliar with the modern world; as a result, many ordinary things from the present era surprise him.
In the story, Phoenix operates as a phantom thief in his own right, and his goals quickly bring him into conflict with Joker. He becomes interested both in Joker himself and in the Ancient Treasure, and he steals the Crystal Skull Key before heading to the Pharaoh's ancient temple in Egypt with the intention of recovering the Great God-Beast.
