Description
Ludociel leads the Four Archangels of the Goddess Clan and commands the Stigma alliance, which united the Goddess, Giant, Fairy, and Human Clans during the Holy War 3,000 years before the main events. He possesses long dark blue hair (depicted as black in the anime) and golden armor, typically keeping his eyes closed; when open, they appear pupil-less. Four angelic wings signify his high rank.

His personality blends politeness and fierce familial loyalty with extreme ruthlessness toward the Demon Clan. He supported his younger brother Mael against ridicule for Mael's pacifism, aided Mael's romantic pursuit of Elizabeth, and openly rejoiced upon learning Mael survived the Holy War. Conversely, Ludociel demanded the Demon Clan's total annihilation, dismissing peace efforts as naive. Viewing demons as inherently corrupt and undeserving of mercy, he captured thousands—including civilians—and executed them via a massive Omega Ark to bait the Ten Commandments. This act shattered negotiations and escalated the Holy War. He later acknowledged the conflict's toll, admitting weariness before his spiritual departure.

In the Holy War, he clashed with Elizabeth over her belief in demon coexistence and her relationship with Meliodas. Following the Goddess Clan's defeat, Ludociel lost his physical body and became sealed near Danafor for millennia. In the present era, he possessed Margaret Liones' body to continue his mission, wielding her rapier alongside his abilities. Within this vessel, his power level registered at 201,000, though his true form was far stronger. He displayed exceptional swordsmanship, pressuring adversaries like Escanor and matching Zeldris' speed, alongside high durability against foes like Indura-form Derieri.

His key abilities include **Ark**, a light-based technique disintegrating darkness and demons; **Flash**, a Grace enabling near-instantaneous movement bestowed by the Supreme Deity; and **Breath of Bless**, a spell boosting allies' magic power while brainwashing them into fearless zealots (termed "Cheat Hope" by demons).

During the New Holy War, Ludociel allied with Elizabeth against the revived Ten Commandments but remained consumed by vengeance for Mael's apparent death. He temporarily overpowered Zeldris in Camelot, declaring it a Goddess Clan victory. However, the revelation that Mael lived—having been manipulated by Gowther's memory-altering spell—delivered profound emotional shock, weakening his hold on Margaret's body and allowing Hendrickson to expel him. He later reconciled with Elizabeth, expressing exhaustion with the cycle of violence before vanishing.

His relationships underscore his complexities: unwavering support for Mael; awareness of Nerobasta's unrequited feelings; and begrudging respect for Elizabeth despite ideological conflicts. His final act acknowledged the futility of perpetuating hatred between clans.
