Description
Citron is a foreign exchange student who joins the Mankai Company as a member of the Spring Troupe. Standing 177 centimeters tall with a birthday on May 15th, he has dark skin, medium-length sandy blond hair, and blue eyes. His foreign appearance sets him apart from other members, and he typically wears traditional clothing from his homeland that resembles Indian or Pakistani garments, often accessorized with golden jewelry. Citron carries an air of mystery, as much of his background is initially unknown, though it is eventually revealed that he hails from the Kingdom of Zafra where he is actually the crown prince who ran away from his duty to be crowned king.

In personality, Citron serves as the mood maker and goofball of the Spring Troupe, consistently lightening the atmosphere with his cheerful and optimistic demeanor. He is an open and energetic individual who brings warmth to those around him. One of his most distinctive traits is his tendency to make mistakes with Japanese, often misusing words or misunderstanding their meanings in endearing ways. This includes confusing words like "rival" with "rifle" or creating comical misspellings. He has a special ability to sense tension in others and can calm people down in various situations. Despite his cheerful exterior, Citron remains somewhat difficult to fully evaluate, which creates a certain distance between him and his colleagues at times. He is enthusiastic about studying both theater and the Japanese language, approaching new challenges with fearless energy.

Motivationally, Citron seeks to learn and grow as an actor while enjoying the warmth and camaraderie of the Mankai Company, which he describes as a very warm place. Having run away from his royal responsibilities, he finds purpose and belonging in the theater troupe.

In the story, Citron initially presents as a mysterious foreign exchange student with nowhere to stay who suddenly appears and joins the troupe. His role expands significantly when his true identity as the crown prince of Zafra is revealed in the main story's eighth chapter, forcing him to temporarily return to his homeland for his coronation. With the support and efforts of his troupe members, he eventually returns to Japan and resumes his life with the Mankai Company, later becoming the International Arts and Culture Minister of Zafra.

Citron maintains warm relationships with all members of the company. He shares a room with Sakuya Sakuma. His relationship with Tsuzuru is characterized by a comedic straight man and funny man dynamic, as Tsuzuru's more serious personality contrasts with Citron's antics. He respects Homare for his eccentric poems, Itaru for his skillful controller handling, and Tsuzuru for his sharp comebacks. Yuki Rurikawa affectionately nicknames him the suspicious foreigner, while Kazunari Miyoshi calls him Ronron. His most significant relationship is with Guy, a former servant from Zafra who later becomes a member of the Winter Troupe; the two share a deep emotional bond and mutual support.

Citron's development throughout the series involves his transition from a runaway prince hiding from his duties to someone who can embrace both his royal heritage and his passion for acting. Through the encouragement of his friends at Mankai, he finds a way to return to Japan and continue pursuing acting while also accepting his responsibilities as a cultural ambassador for his homeland.

Notable abilities include his skill in his homeland's traditional dances and songs. As an actor, he has portrayed a variety of roles including Friar Laurence in Romeo and Julius, the King of Hearts in Alex in Wonderland, S in A Clockwork Heart, the Wizard of the North in The Wonderful Charlatan of Oz, and King Arthur in Knights of the Round IV. He has expressed interest in playing roles with more lines, such as a talkative pelican or a squirrel skilled at tongue twisters. His interests include learning new Japanese words through dictionaries and virtually traveling the world using online maps. His favorite food is sweet shrimp sushi, while he strongly dislikes pig feet. He owns a leopard named Juliano in his home country. His symbolic flower is the jasmine, representing purity and elegance.
