Description
Kojiro, a young ninja of the legendary Fūma clan, maintains the clan's historical alliance with the Hojo family dating to the Sengoku period. Residing in their secluded mountain village, he is dispatched to safeguard Hakuo Academy, a prestigious institution declining due to aggressive student poaching by rival Seishikan. Under acting principal Himeko Hojo, granddaughter of the previous principal, his mission reignites a centuries-old conflict when Seishikan enlists the rival Yasha clan, resuming hostilities between the ninja factions.

Entering the modern world with youthful enthusiasm and naivety, Kojiro forms an immediate attachment to Himeko Hojo, an emotional anchor throughout his struggles. His combat revolves around a wooden sword (bokken) capable of slicing solid objects and flesh despite its material, defying physics. This weapon embodies his traditional ninja heritage and exceptional swordsmanship.

As clashes escalate into full-scale ninja war, fellow Fūma members reinforce him at Hakuo. He displays fierce loyalty to comrades and clan, strictly adhering to "Shinobi Law." However, war's brutality—especially clan deaths—forces him to confront the human cost, sparking introspection and turmoil. His compassion surfaces through interactions with Erina Asuka, hospitalized younger sister of rival Musashi Asuka, whom he recognizes as an innocent ensnared in the feud.

Following the Yasha clan conflict, Kojiro is drawn into the "Sacred Sword War," a millennia-spanning cosmic battle between Cosmo and Chaos forces. Alongside allies including former rival Musashi Asuka and Fūma member Ryoma, he becomes a "Cosmo Warrior." This war centers on ten sacred swords granting world dominion, with Fuurin Kazan and Ougonken as pivotal blades. Wielding them, he combats embodiments of cosmic destiny, confronting cyclical reincarnation and karma governed by Buddhist Saṃsāra.

Post-Sacred Sword War, a coup emerges within the Fūma clan. The "New Fūma Clan" (Shinsei Fuma) rejects tradition, branding traditionalists like Kojiro as enemies. During the "Fūma Rebellion," he defends the clan's legacy against internal betrayal, facing mind-controlling adversaries like Shimon while striving to reunite the fractured lineage.

Later narrative expansions—the manga sequel "Yagyū Ansatsuchō" and prequel "Jou no Maki"—delve into Kojiro's legacy and earlier exploits. These stories cement his role as a pivotal Fūma clan figure, highlighting his enduring battles against supernatural threats and unwavering dedication to comrades and principles across reincarnations and conflicts.
