Description
Ren Jingūji stands tall with strawberry-blond hair, light blue eyes, and fawn-tanned skin, his loose yet stylish outfits amplifying a naturally flirtatious aura. A single pierced ear marks his adulthood, contrasting his childhood appearance. Born the third son of the wealthy Jingūji family, he endured early tragedy when his mother—a celebrated idol—perished in an accident. His grieving father discarded her mementos, but Ren salvaged a lone recording of a song she composed for him while pregnant, a melody that later shaped his musical identity.

Resentful of his eldest brother’s decision to enroll him at Saotome Academy to bolster the family’s financial group, Ren rebelled through academic indifference, skipping classes, and clashing with instructors like Hyūga. Beneath this defiant exterior simmered a fervent passion for music, inherited from his mother’s legacy.

Ren masks emotional depth with playful charm, habitually teasing peers like childhood friend Masato Hijirikawa through witty nicknames and humor. His dynamic with Haruka Nanami, whom he dubs “little lamb,” evolves from lighthearted flirtation to sincere connection. Her persistence unearths his buried emotions, inspiring him to channel raw vulnerability into lyrics, reigniting his musical drive.

A near-expulsion for missed assignments forces a reckoning. When Haruka rescues his abandoned lyrics and challenges him to embrace authenticity, he performs an original song during a school broadcast—a public declaration of his true self and commitment to music. This act bridges his carefree facade and private aspirations.

Complex bonds define his relationships: a rivalry-turned-respect with Masato, rooted in mutual familial expectations; spirited exchanges with Syo Kurusu and Otoya Ittoki that blend mischief and mentorship; and lingering, unspoken jealousy over Haruka’s ties to others. As a member of idol group ST☆RISH, he balances collaborative artistry with his trademark teasing.

Beyond core narratives, Ren appears in concert films and anniversary projects, consistently showcasing his dedication to performance. While spin-offs and movies prioritize ensemble stories, his individual growth remains anchored to music’s transformative power and the echoes of his mother’s influence.
