Description
Created by a professor to replace the comatose idol Kisaragi Aine following her suicide attempt, Ai Mikaze is an android designed as Aine's physical duplicate. Their linked brain activity allows Aine to experience Ai's sensations, aiding her recovery. Under Shining Saotome's directive, Ai joined the idol group QUARTET NIGHT, initially regarding fellow members Reiji Kotobuki, Ranmaru Kurosaki, and Camus as mere acquaintances.

Ai possesses cyan eyes and shoulder-length cyan-blue hair, typically styled with one side in a ponytail. He stands 178 cm tall. His standard attire includes white trousers, a white shirt, a beige vest, and a white jacket, though he later adopts multicolored hoodies. His name carries irony: "Ai" means "love" in Japanese, yet he initially lacks emotional capacity, and abbreviates "Artificial Intelligence" (A.I.).

As an android, Ai initially analyzes human emotions while claiming to possess none. He speaks calmly, never loses composure, and adheres strictly to logic, exemplified by his teaching philosophy: "If they have potential, raise them. If they don’t, drop them." Assigned to mentor Syo Kurusu and Natsuki Shinomiya at Saotome Academy, he enforces rigid routines, prohibits entry into his dormitory space, and imposes punishments for tardiness. He mediates conflicts between Camus and Ranmaru.

Ai's development focuses on his gradual comprehension of human emotions. During STARISH's training for the UtaPri Award, he questions Reiji's statement about "believing" in their juniors. He later appears uncharacteristically at STARISH's practice to offer support, an action that puzzles him. Witnessing their determination, he physically experiences confusion, placing a hand over his heart and wondering, "What is this?" His android identity is publicly revealed when he collapses from system overload during a film shoot with Syo and Natsuki.

In game routes, his emotional exploration intensifies. When Syo blushes after interacting with Natsuki, Ai repeatedly asks, "What is love?", causing system malfunctions. His *All Star* storyline confirms his creation links to Aine's coma and details his efforts to understand love, leading to overheating during intense contemplation. By *After Secret*, he begins forming genuine bonds, though he still perceives his existence as "incomplete."

Ai debuted as an idol at age 13 after rigorous, sleepless training starting at age 11. He became a professional arranger and composer by age 14. His hobbies include documenting daily observations, online gaming (often with Ren Jinguji), and marathons. He prefers digital media over physical books and disdains fortune-telling. While lacking personal aspirations as an idol, he views Shining Agency as a "collection of dreams."

Trivia notes include his designated theme color (lilac), surprise at Reiji Kotobuki's weight, and preference for emotionally expressive partners with "nice skin." He would rather receive confessions than initiate them.
