OVA
Description
Tōko Fujiwara is a human character appearing throughout the *Natsume's Book of Friends* series and the OVA *Itsuka Yuki no Hi ni (Sometime on a Snowy Day)*. A distant relative of Takashi Natsume, she and her husband Shigeru Fujiwara foster him, providing a home in the countryside. Unable to have children, she embraces Natsume as her own, offering the stable maternal care he lacked during his itinerant childhood.

She is a warm, kind, and caring middle-aged woman. Her appearance features dark brown hair typically tied in a low bun, brown eyes, and she is often seen wearing a pink long-sleeved apron over a collared shirt. Tōko maintains a peaceful domestic life, managing household tasks like cleaning and organizing. She shares a deeply affectionate relationship with Shigeru, expressing a strong attachment to him and stating she wouldn't know how to cope if completely separated.

In *Itsuka Yuki no Hi ni*, she cleans the storeroom with Natsume's help while their cat, Nyanko-sensei, occupies a hot water bottle. Later, after Natsume resolves the snow spirit's quest, Tōko gives him a snow globe belonging to Shigeru as a memento, reflecting her consistent nurturing nature and attentiveness to fostering his sense of belonging.

Across all media, she remains unaware of Natsume's ability to see yōkai. Both she and Shigeru consciously avoid prying into his secrets, prioritizing his comfort and affirming he is family. She interacts kindly with others, such as the actor Shuuichi Natori, whom she regards as Natsume's friend. Limited details exist about her childhood or family, though she maintains contact with former classmates and friends like Sana', Tomiko, Shouko, and Shima.

Within *Itsuka Yuki no Hi ni*, no significant development alters her core traits. The OVA reinforces her established role as a supportive, stable maternal figure within the Fujiwara household, contributing to the series' thematic focus on quiet domesticity and familial bonds.
