Miki Itō is a veteran Japanese voice actress and narrator born on October 21, 1962, in Tokyo, Japan. She is a graduate of the University of Tsukuba. Itō is affiliated with the talent agency Office Osawa, which she joined in the early 1990s to further her career in narration work. She began her training at the Katsuta Voice Actor's Academy during her third year of university and made her professional debut in January 1985 in the original video animation (OVA) Greed.

Itō's early career included a wide variety of roles, with one of her first starring parts being Eiko "A-ko" Magami in the 1986 theatrical film Project A-ko. Throughout the late 1980s and 1990s, she built a strong portfolio, taking on significant characters such as Princess Kirara in Aoi Blink, Kichi in Jungle Book: Shōnen Mowgli, and Satomi Yamazaki in Hikari no Densetsu.
