Hokuto Sumeragi is the twin sister of Subaru Sumeragi, the thirteenth head of the powerful Sumeragi clan of onmyōji, or spirit mediums. Born in Kyoto on February 18, 1974, she is the elder twin, having been born just before midnight. While her brother carries the heavy responsibilities of their ancient lineage, Hokuto lives a comparatively normal life as a high school student, yet she is inextricably linked to every aspect of Subaru’s world.
In personality, Hokuto is the radiant and boisterous opposite of her more reserved and gentle-natured twin. She is described as eccentric, bold, impulsive, and quick-witted, with a flair for the dramatic.
