Description
Android 18 is a fictional character from the anime Dragon Ball GT. She was originally a human who, along with her twin brother, was kidnapped and forcibly reconstructed into a powerful cyborg by the scientist Dr. Gero. Because she is a cyborg rather than a fully mechanical robot, she retains human biological functions, including the ability to age gracefully, grow her hair, and have children. In the events preceding GT, she married Krillin, and together they have a daughter named Marron, settling into a relatively peaceful family life.

In Dragon Ball GT, Android 18 maintains her signature appearance, though she cuts her hair shorter than in previous series and often wears fashionable business attire, reflecting her settled, more mature lifestyle. Her personality remains cool, confident, and sarcastic, but it has softened considerably from her initial debut as a villain. She is a devoted wife and mother, and while she still displays a no-nonsense attitude, her connections to her family are a central part of her character.

Her primary role in the series is tied to her past and her relationships. She becomes a target of the parasitic alien Bebi, who takes over her body and mind as part of his plan to conquer Earth. Like many other characters, she is freed from this possession using Sacred Water. Later, she becomes crucial to the main storyline when a villainous version of her brother, Android 17, emerges. This new enemy, Super 17, is a fusion of the original Android 17 and a hell-born clone, and he murders Krillin. Enraged by the death of her husband, Android 18 confronts Super 17 in a fierce battle. Although she is no match for him in terms of raw power, her intervention is key to his defeat. She distracts the fused android by exploiting his internal conflict, allowing Goku to land the decisive blow.

Her key relationships are the driving force behind her actions in GT. Her bond with her brother, Android 17, is complex and tragic, as she is forced to fight a corrupted version of him. Her love for Krillin is her most defining motivation, turning her grief and rage into a willingness to sacrifice herself for revenge. She also maintains a respectful, if sometimes distant, alliance with Goku and the other Z-Fighters.

Android 18 possesses formidable abilities that make her a powerful fighter. As a cyborg, she does not generate traditional ki energy like a pure human or Saiyan, but she is powered by a perpetual energy reactor that gives her limitless stamina and superhuman strength, speed, and durability. She is capable of flight and can project energy blasts, with her signature technique being a powerful energy field or barrage attack. Notably, the self-destruct bomb that was once embedded in her chest had been removed years earlier using the Dragon Balls, though in GT she threatens to detonate it against Super 17, unaware it is no longer there. Her fighting style is efficient and brutal, relying on her unlimited energy to outlast and overwhelm her opponents.
