Description
Tōko Fujiwara, a middle-aged woman with dark brown hair swept into a low bun and warm brown eyes, frequently wears a collared shirt beneath her signature pink long-sleeved apron. Alongside her husband, Shigeru Fujiwara—distant relatives of Takashi Natsume—she opened their home to him after a hospital visit, cognizant of his turbulent upbringing. Childless by circumstance, she embraced Natsume as her own, offering a steady emotional anchor and maternal care while carefully safeguarding his privacy regarding his ability to see spirits, wary of dangers their presence might bring.

Her gentle nature fosters a tranquil home where Natsume’s belonging takes precedence. She dotes on the feline-shaped spirit Madara, affectionately dubbing him "Nyankichi" under the guise of a stray cat Natsume adopted. Deeply devoted to Shigeru, she frets during prolonged separations, cherishing their shared life in the Fujiwara family’s countryside residence. Fragments of her past include friendships from middle school and young adulthood—notably a friend named Sana and classmates Tomiko, Shouko, and Shima. She wed Shigeru in her twenties, relocating to his ancestral home, where their quiet, childless companionship flourished until Natsume’s arrival.

Consistently supportive, Tōko cultivates a nurturing space for Natsume, encouraging bonds like his friendship with Shuuichi Natori. She quietly balances the ordinary rhythms of domestic life with the unseen intricacies of Natsume’s supernatural world, ensuring stability amid its hidden complexities.
